It’s hard to deny that the Vans classic Slip-On model is a ideal blank canvas for unlimited design opportunities. Its low-cut and streamlined look made it a massive hit in the ’70s, not only with skaters but also the general market—turning into a lifestyle sneaker as we typically know it now. following the brand’s recent project with new York-based skate imprint Dime, Vans has teamed up with Japanese footwear boutique BILLY’s Tokyo to plug their well-known Slip-On trainers with a new colourway dubbed the Vans Slip-On “Charger”.
Sporting a highly resilient canvas base, these Vans classic Slip-Ons still maintains the label’s signature checkerboard graphic print. However, this time, it showcases phone battery charging icons alternating between a full-green bar and low-power red with a yellow lightning symbol. This outfit is then also featured across the rear region.

Midfoot, the electrifying design is broken up with a solid blacked-out panel. across the sides, the midsole unit features a side tape mimicking what appears to be a power cord which then plugs perfectly into the red Vans logo license plate across the heel. The setup is complete with a Vans label label stitched on the lateral side and a signature waffle outsole that offers a firmer grip on all surfaces.
