The Nike SB dunk low “Street Hawker” Pays homage to China’s Food Carts

After getting our very first sneak peek all the way back in October, the Nike SB dunk low “Street Hawker” has now been officially unveiled in all its glory. When this shoe made rounds earlier this season it was nicknamed the “Chinese new Year”, but it looks like it’s actually a homage to food carts that play a large role in Chinese culture.

Walking down any street in China, no matter if you’re in a rural area or an urban metropolis, the first thing that you’ll see are the food carts that are lined up one after another serving up delicious delicacies on-the-go. created by Guangzhou-based artist Jason Deng, the dunk low features 22 distinct street food-inspired details that are taken from six dishes from six Chinese cities. From a plethora of flour-based dishes to Yangchun noodles and chopsticks, this is all done up in a watercolour-like style that we can’t help but fall for.

Expected to launch on January 13th, make sure you keep it locked at The Sole vendor if you have an appetite for the Nike SB dunk low “Street Hawker”. let us know what you think of this upcoming colourway, and while you’re here, you might as well take an on-foot look at the Nike SB dunk low “Pink Pig”!
